One of the first groups of Australian soldiers to be released from the prisoner of war camp in Kuching, Borneo. Lt V. A. Sinfield from 2/18th Battalion shows Lt G.R. Ellice-Flint of the same unit the star sign that decorated the Japanese headquarters building. Lt Sinfield was a former employee of Texaco Oil Company and the star was known as the Texaco sign.
