On August 15, 2020, the Australian War Memorial in Canberra will be holding its daily Last Post Ceremony (LPC). On this occasion, the story of Private Dudley Boughton – Service No. NX58805 – of the 2/18th Battalion will be shared as part of the ceremony.
The date coincides with this year’s annual commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of Victory in the Pacific.
Private Boughton’s family hopes there may be people in the ACT associated with the 2/18th who would like to attend. Should anyone local wish to attend this event they will need to purchase a ticket from AWM.
Given current travel restrictions, social distancing recommendations and the high-risk categories of many members and their families, it is valuable to note that the entire service will be made available to watch online from 4.55pm AEST on August 15 and can be viewed using either of the following direct links:
